Quailhurst Stables

The old stables at Quailhurst Vineyard Estate were built oversize to house the Clydesdale draught horses that resided on the property many years ago. Since purchasing the farm in 1997, Deborah Hausman has significantly renovated the farm’s original upper and lower stables and created a world-class dressage training facility in the European style. All of the horses spend time daily on meticulously maintained grass pasture, bordered by pinot noir grape vineyards and the estate’s historic gardens.

Quailhurst stands two breeding stallions, Caletino and 2005 KWPN horse of the year Nassau (currently in Holland), and also offers for sale frozen semen from a select group of top international dressage stallions. At Quailhurst, Deborah has bred 12 horses, started all of the young horses, and trained numerous mounts for FEI competition.

In addition to the daily training activities of the Quailhurst Stable, the farm is also host to public and private wine tastings where we introduce visitors to our twin passions of horses and wine.
